Clean Water, The Foundation Of A Healthy Life.
Clean water determines health, education, equality and sustainable development. In 2019, the World Economic Forum declared water scarcity and its impacts as the greatest threat of the coming decade. Over 703 million people do not have access to clean water. Since 2009 we have been focused on changing that.
Water means life. This is a phrase that we hear again and again and when we come across a village community that has no access to water, you can clearly see why.
A Life Without Clean Water
Imagine having to walk two hours per day to collect dirty water, ridden with parasites, bacteria, chemicals and life threatening viruses. Imagine this is the only source of drinking water for you, your children, your entire family. Imagine that your children have a 1 in 3 chance of reaching their fifth birthday. More than 663 million people don’t have access to clean drinking water. Our goal at Global H2O is to help provide clean water sources to those in need, through construction of wells.
We Work Smarter To Provide More
Since we are a 100% volunteer based non-profit we can significantly improve lives in a short period of time, with minimal expense and complexity. 99% of all of our projects are in Uganda which further reduces our cost per project and we check in on previous projects to make sure that they are functioning and to reconnect with the community to witness the changes that having access to clean water makes. A $20 donation can provide clean water to one person for the rest of their life. The water problem is vast, but the solution is simple and effective.
Educational Support for Communities
We educate the community on the importance of clean water and things they can do to ensure that their well continues to provide safe water for decades to come.
